Robust variable perennial with lobed leaves, each usually with a dark basal spot. Pale to purple pink flowers from early summer to autumn. The infusion made from the flowers or leaves is used externally to moisturize and tone the skin and internally to soothe mucous membranes irritated and inflamed by coughs, stomach upsets, and other intestinal problems.
