Aromatic woody perennial with downy stems and ovate, downy, grey-green leaves, which have toothed edges. Small white-pink hairy flowers in summer. Horehound candies once the sovereign remedy for coughs, are still remembered by some. Infusion is useful for weak stomach, lack of appetite and persistent bronchitis.
