Caraway is found in Europe, northern Africa, and temperate Asia. It was
used in the Middle East for 5000 years before its introduction to Europe
in the 13th century. Spicy caraway seeds are used in all cabbage dishes,
including coleslaw. Traditionally used in rye bread, buns and cakes, as
well as in soups and stews.
