The plant is native to Europe. Once it had several uses as a magic plant. Today it is used medicinally for headaches, nervous tensions or neuralgia. Dried leaves are included in herbal tobacco and snuff. Tolerates most soils. Pink to purple flowers in late spring to early summer.
